DISABLE FILE INDEXING AND SPEED UP YOUR PC

File indexing is an unwanted windows service.it will only help you when you do a lot of searches in your pc

So file indexing is not important for many people.

you can speed up your pc by disabling file indexing

TO DISABLE FILE INDEXING,

Go to “My Computer” and right click on your hard drive. At the bottom of the window that opens, you should see a check box titled “Allow Indexing Service to index the disk for fast file searching.”  Uncheck it.

Did you find scrap in your scrapbook ‘Bom Sabado!’. It is new worm that attacked Orkut. It was created by someone from Brazil.

How it works?
When any one open page that is infected by this worm. A javascript will run automatically. Your browser will be hanged for some minutes on seconds. That script will automatically join you his communities. here you can see links of these communities.

After joining communities it will send scrap to your friends with text “Bom Sabado!” with a iFrame code which load that javascript again for your friends and they will join communities and send links to their friends.

With scrap “Bom Sabado!” it loads a small iFrame code.

Hard Drive clean up..!

Wonder why your computer is getting so slow lately? Most often, it's just your hard drive is getting full or carying too many junk files. Most of these files are temporary files and perfectly safe to be deleted. Cleaning up your hard drive every once in awhile will improve your PC performance.
You might wonder: Why Windows keeps those files if they're not necessary? "Temporary Internet Files", for example, everytime you browse to a webpage, your web browser requests the contents from the host, saves them locally as cache, then displays the contents to your browser window. Now, to speed up the access time when you come back to the same page, your web browser might re-use those cache files if they're not changed from the webpage.
"Temporary Internet Files" are just one example of the temporary files you can clean up. Follow the steps below to clean up other temporary sources as well.
Most likely, temporary files are stored in the Operating System drive ("C Drive"), but it doesn't hurt to do a cleanup all of your hard drives every once in awhile.

Auto shutdown your computer in a specified time without any softwares..!

Step 1: Right click on your desktop and choose “New=>shortcuts”.Step 2: In the box that says “Type the location of the shortcut”,
type in “shutdown -s -t 3600” without the quotation marks and click next.

Note: 3600 are the amount of seconds before your computer shuts down. So , this means 3600 seconds = 60 mints (1 hour). You can change the value in the above code. You can even create multiple shutdown shortcuts. For example a computer shutdown shortcut for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 5 hours etc.,

hide the folder and its contents in your nokia mobile

1.Now create a folder with extension .jad (Eg:Folder.jad)

2.Now create another folder in the same directory with the same name with extension .jar (Eg:Folder.jar)

3.Thats it.Your folder. with .jad extension and its content will be hidden.

3- After u copy the command go to line ( 23 ) u will find "enter password here" Change to any password u want.
4- After that, save it as locker.bat (the txt file will change to an application file)
5- Now go back to the folder & u will find a this locker.bat file.
6- Click on it & u will find a new folder called Private.
7- Now copy what u want in it & after that go to locker.bat by clicking it, it will open and ask you if you want to lock your folder? Y/N ?
8- Type Y
9- If you want to UNLOCK your folder, go open locker.bat & type your password and the Private folder will be made visible again.

To make an invisible folder in your pc-- windows 7

Firstly, create a new folder.

Right-click on the newly created folder and from the the menu select Rename option.Press num lock & Hold Alt key and press 9 key nine times and then press Enter key. You will see a blank folder name for that folder.

Again right-click on that folder and select Properties.

From the properties window, select Customize tab.

Select Change Icon form the Folder icons part.

Now, select a blank folder icon form the Change Icon for Folder window.

Click on OK button

now theres an easy way to lock the folder which contains your personal files without the help of any softwares..!!

if you want to lock the folder music in D: which has the path D:\music
create a text file    ren music music.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}  in your notepad and save it in the folder which contains the folder u want to lock and save it as lock.bat

create another text file ren music.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} music in the same folder and save it as key.bat..!!

now u can see two batch files lock and key!! if you press lock,the folder you wanna lock will become control panel and you can no longer view its contents..!! then press key to get back your original folder..!!

Encrypt/Lock Computer Drives Or Pendrive In Windows 7

                                     

1.Plugin your Pendrive into your Usb port.

(Skip the above step if you want to lock/encrypt a local drive)

2.Click on Start button and type Bitlocker and click on BitLocker Drive Encryption

3.Now you can see all local drives and your pendrive(If you have plugged in any)

4.Now click on Turn on BitLocker in front of the drive you want to lock/Encrypt.

5.Now it 

will ask you to choose your password

6.Once you have entered your password click Next you will be now asked to save the password or take a print out.

Note:If you save your password in your computer then make sure that it at some safe place.

7.Now bitlocker will start encrypting your drive.The encryption time varies according to the size of the drive

8.If you have encrypted/locked  a local drive then you will see a lock in front of the drive.

9.If you have encrypted/locked a pendrive then you will see a bitlocker setup file when you put this pendrive in computer.Install this in another computer.

(If bitlocker is already installed in another system then this step is not required.)

10.Now it will prompt you to enter your password.
